EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

they are correlated.
We could be here all day talking about associated things that don't make sense. Like 40ft long RVs and 4K Lb. cars to haul one 200 Lb. occupant or saving the environment one 2.5 gallon plastic container of DEF at a time.

I like to drive with my windows down when the weather is not super hot and I agree that the sound of all these cars restarting is very annoying.
you guys all pay attention too much, just enjoy the silence at the stop

Can't do that, not with any Harley's around. Hated those things ever since I had an ear-bleeding loud one pass me one day, full throttle.

Bit weird hearing cars start up leaving a stop, do agree. But in our hybrid, it hasn't bothered me much--I wish it had a hair more NVH so I wouldn't even notice it running or not, but we got used to it real quick (at 50mpg it was hard to not like the end result). But in a regular car I'm quite sure I'd hate it.

What silence? People constantly creep forward and release their brakes and these engines start and stop multiple times during just one stop.
Or if the cabin gets too hot and the AC needs to kick in, they will also restart.
i never understood creeping forward unless the light is about to turn green. I know what you're talking about, but I don't understand why people roll forward 5cm when the light is still as red as it ever was

Depends what is going on behind you. I creep forward all the time bcs. there is always idiot that partially blocks intersection behind.

Prove it.

I've never experienced it with a manual transmission. Hard to imagine how that would work properly.
when you press clutch for a period of time or put it in N it's supposed to kill it
From google: In manual transmission vehicles, the auto start-stop system typically engages when the car is stationary, in neutral, and the clutch pedal is fully released. The engine restarts when the clutch pedal is depressed. The system is designed to reduce fuel consumption by stopping the engine at idle.

Stop start increases wear. In the event of a holdup or something, that half second delay could be a game changer
There is no delay. You cant physically move your foot from the brake to the gas pedal before the motor starts. Also-the start from a red light-is not a dry start, the starters are not conventional starters.

In short-both your reasons are not true. I don't post YouTube videos. But there are many that explain exactly how it works-because clearly you don't know. Might be worth a watch.

put in neutral and release the clutch (engine Stop) . As soon you press down the cluch, engine starts up again. Did work really good on a (euro) honda civic as long battery condition was good.

I find it initially irritating on an auto, but tolerable and soon forgotten/not noticed. It is flat out awful if not dangerous on a manual IMHO, especially to someone new to manuals.
no its not. Normal procedure when driving manual. You put it in neutral and release the clutch when standing still for a longer time.
