We could be here all day talking about associated things that don't make sense. Like 40ft long RVs and 4K Lb. cars to haul one 200 Lb. occupant or saving the environment one 2.5 gallon plastic container of DEF at a time.they are correlated.
I like to drive with my windows down when the weather is not super hot and I agree that the sound of all these cars restarting is very annoying. As a cyclist, it's annoying to hear al these vehicles restarting at every intersection.

you guys all pay attention too much, just enjoy the silence at the stopI like to drive with my windows down when the weather is not super hot and I agree that the sound of all these cars restarting is very annoying.
What silence? People constantly creep forward and release their brakes and these engines start and stop multiple times during just one stop.you guys all pay attention too much, just enjoy the silence at the stop
Can't do that, not with any Harley's around. Hated those things ever since I had an ear-bleeding loud one pass me one day, full throttle.I like to drive with my windows down when the weather is not super hot and I agree that the sound of all these cars restarting is very annoying.
Unless it is 110, windows are down.I like to drive with my windows down when the weather is not super hot and I agree that the sound of all these cars restarting is very annoying.
I find it initially irritating on an auto, but tolerable and soon forgotten/not noticed. It is flat out awful if not dangerous on a manual IMHO, especially to someone new to manuals.I have never understood the hate for start/stop.
i never understood creeping forward unless the light is about to turn green. I know what you're talking about, but I don't understand why people roll forward 5cm when the light is still as red as it ever wasWhat silence? Or if the cabin gets too hot and the AC needs to kick in, they will also restart.
Depends what is going on behind you. I creep forward all the time bcs. there is always idiot that partially blocks intersection behind.i never understood creeping forward unless the light is about to turn green. Prove it.Stop start increases wear.
I've never experienced it with a manual transmission. Hard to imagine how that would work properly.I find it initially irritating on an auto, but tolerable and soon forgotten/not noticed. It is flat out awful if not dangerous on a manual IMHO, especially to someone new to manuals.
instead of creeping i just run the light!Depends what is going on behind you. I creep forward all the time bcs. there is always idiot that partially blocks intersection behind.
Prove it.

There is no delay. You cant physically move your foot from the brake to the gas pedal before the motor starts. Also-the start from a red light-is not a dry start, the starters are not conventional starters.Stop start increases wear. In the event of a holdup or something, that half second delay could be a game changer
2000 Honda Insight is a manual that shuts off.Prove it.
I've never experienced it with a manual transmission. Hard to imagine how that would work properly.
put in neutral and release the clutch (engine Stop) . As soon you press down the cluch, engine starts up again. Did work really good on a (euro) honda civic as long battery condition was good.Prove it.

no its not. Normal procedure when driving manual. You put it in neutral and release the clutch when standing still for a longer time.I find it initially irritating on an auto, but tolerable and soon forgotten/not noticed. What's a 'normal procedure' when driving manual?? Neutral when stopped? Yes, obviuosly...no its not. Normal procedure when driving manual. You put it in neutral and release the clutch when standing still for a longer time.
