Engines under load from a cold start

To the poster, you keep saying you simulated a load on the engine to make it warm up faster. What people are trying to say is, it is not good to put an engine under a heavy load until it is warm. Simulating a heavy load on a cold engine is not the best thing to do.

Up here, i even turned the wipers on along with the defrost to blast it off. Stepmom wanted it as if it was a limo that she was driving to the Casino for a night on the town.
Some people would like to deck me and knock me out, hmm? Well old man went off to bed and she just came in so maybe thats all just that "if it were my truck" coming out, in which case you would have warmed it up/turned it on yourself.. so thats a bit redundant. This is my elderly stepmom that asked me to do her a favor, so, knock yourselves out if we feel like fightin or having blows, im not sure i see the logic here when you realize that if it were you this wouldnt have happened.

I think you missed my point. What you did was not necessary, right or wrong. I misunderstood the ownership situation, though, so I apologize.
The big question you haven't answered yet is: rour step mom couldn't wait 5 more minutes for the engine to warm up on its own, WITHOUT your help? If it were my mom, and she didn't have anywhere she REALLY needed to be, I'd have her tell me about her day one more time to kill some time.

EDIT: Okay, it was basically barely colder than that. Next time, idle for a couple - 5 minutes, that's it. Then drive 'gently' for the first couple - 5 miles. Then go to town.

Guys, ease up. I read the OP as just lacking an understanding of the additional wear caused by revving a cold engine. Many of us on this forum are not mechanics but come here to learn. Those who help to inform us without belittling us gain great respect quickly. Making us feel idiotic and small can make the good information you might be offering hard to accept.
It's pretty much bull to punch someone in the face for not knowing why you are resorting to violence in the first place, which quite honestly is for weak people.

many people live off of fast moving main roads, they start their car and take off out of their driveway and hit 55 all in about 60 seconds. that means possibly hitting 3k rpm under load not just being in park. That's exactly what I was wondering too! How can someone have two step parents?? One of them has to be the real parent in order for the other one to be the step parent.
