How is the deposit control for good synthetic *BLENDS*, like Motorcraft 5W-20? We talk a lot about dino vs. syn, but I'd like to know about the blends, if anyone knows.

For turbos the only API standard we have is the API CF-4 grade and above which is a diesel grade but it requires good deposit control in turbochargers so it can be applicable to gasoline turbocharged engines if the oil also meets the API SM grade. However in a petroleum formulation the lightest oil that meets this dual grade is the 10w30 Shell Rotella. There are however synthetic 5w30 grade oils that exist that meet dual specification API SM and CI-4+ grade so these oils would offer excellent deposit control in a turbocharged engine at a level of protection not found in petroleum oils that only meet the API SM grade.
