Ive been meaning to do this for a while, I just kept putting it off. I did it before the weekly wash this morning. I started off by covering the alternator, battery, and wires in the back of the engine bay, then I spray all over with a garden hose. After that I spray a mixture of dish soap and water everywhere then let is sit for 5 minutes or so. The final step was to rinse everything off. Usually I take the leaf blower and blow all the water off and top with tire shine, but the leaf blower has a fuel tank leak so I just let it air dry and didnt use the tire shine. I like the look of a shiny engine bay but it also attracts dust. So I just left it clean this time. The pics aren't the greatest, just wanted to share.

c'mon Greg, You took those pics when you brought the car home from the dealer...LOL! Looks great!

Nice and clean!

With all the salt and winter crud over here, I'm not going to post what mine looks like to spare you the heart attack.

You could cover them up first with some plastic grocery bags fist.

Something about these pics reminds me of something.. Hmmmmm?
I'd take pics of mine but it's snowing with 60kmh winds, wind chill of -28c and ambient -15c.

Nice clean engine bay GregK24!

Love the looks of the K24. I've used Simple Green on my vehicles and that is also a great way for us northerners to get the grime and salt off the block. I always cover up the electrics with plastic grocery bags as well.

yes, somebody need to look at EXIF information for the date these pictures were taken :-)

The engine looks like it is still sitting in the dealers show room!

Thanks! once the engine is clean its easy to keep it that way, its just the initial cleaning that can be tough.
