ENEOS Import Model S CVT Fluid

I should also add that my 2012 Legacy had used CVT installed when I bought it. When I eventually got it home after getting it road worthy, I noticed an oil leak in the driveway. Upon investigation, I determined that it must have been the CVT input shaft seal that was leaking because the fluid was red and not the green variant recommended by Subaru. I started by correcting the fluid level (overfilled) and the leak disappeared. 31k kms later, the CVT is still going strong with the "wrong" fluid. I probably should have dropped the pan, just to have a look, at the last engine oil change.
Mystery fluid? ATF??

And it could be that Idemitsu has simply not updated their labelling as well.

Eneos did not state they retested type S to warrant the inclusion of the -iii transmission.

Anytime a multivehicle ATF blender has added another transmission to their list is because the additive maker has tested this fluid in the additional hardware and has passed on the new compatibility to the blender.
This is the most sensible contribution in this thread.

I’m not going to argue with you about Subaru experience or professional technician experience. Those that know me here know my contributions about Subarus and my dealership experience. My first Subaru was purchased in 1979 and I’ve never looked back. Have owned at least one ever since, usually multiple.

Rotella bath beads?

Reactions: GW.
Bring this back around after MolaKuke covered the process. The additive companies sell the tested additive packages and the a blender can buy a base oil package or improve the base oil quality.

OEM’s don’t blend oil so they’re also relying on some of these same companies.

I also want to add slight viscosity differences in transmission fluid on paper are no where near the viscosity difference in fluid temperature. A transmission has to handle viscosity differences, if they didn’t our friends in Alaska or even where I am in the winter would have problems.
