I've been having fantastic results with STIHL ultra full synthetic. I see no reason to buy anything else.

Looks like equivalent to a 30 grade engine oil viscosity. The highest out of all of your recent sample group.
Nothing in it what??
I'm surprised it has no detergents or aw additives like dominator. Nice viscosity though. Thank you for the VOA.
From their website it states:
Proprietary detergents, additives and antioxidants
Provide for a powerful clean and engine protectant

Uh, we don't see anything.. 😄
Wish OA companies would offer a cheap test that actually showed us what it is.

Where's the beef?

It's a relatively thick Full Synthetic with very high TBN. In 2-stroke oils higher viscosity also mean better lubrication like 4-stroke oils.
The racing 2-stroke oils are Full Synthetic equivalent to 40 and even 50 grade oil.

Amsoil Saber viscosity at 100*C is the same as 40 grade oil and that allows some people to run it at 100:1 ratio.

This ECHO 2-cycle is a 30 grade oil. It is a mixture of synthetic and conventional base oils with various additives.

It's the combination of base oil viscosities and additives that gives a 2-cycle oil its final viscosity.

It's the combination of base oil viscosities and additives that allow up to a 100:1 mix ratio.

I have ran this stuff all season in a Shindaiwa T262 trimmer. I do lawn care and run the trimmer for hours a day. Pulled the muffler a few days ago and the piston exhaust side is spotless. Exhaust port is clean and spark arrestor screen had nothing on it. Last year I ran saber at 80:1. End of the season the piston was stained pretty good and had to scrap the exhaust port out through it was not blocked up bad it still had a considerable amount more than the red armor has. So red armor does what it says from my experience by cleaning the piston stains off and keeping it clean.

Would there be any anti-wear additives that can't be seen with this VOA? If not, could we conclude this oil mostly relying on higher viscosity to reduce wear? Lastly, the higher viscosity might affect miscibility. Does anyone who using the oil see problems mixing this oil at lower outside temps.?

yes of course, there are additional aw chemistries not reported.

No, but the addition of PIB for clean burning helps.

The formula uses various solvents to promote miscibility.

I've been using the Echo Red Armor at 40:1 for 3 or 4 years in all my OPE it been working real well from what I can tell.

Echo red armor is my favorite 2 cycle oil but I have a hard time passing VP racing jaso FD oil at nearly half the cost.

Stihl ultra? is it still JASO FB? If so you are paying more for less. upgrade to a jaso FD oil.

My 2 favorites are echo red armor, and the bargain priced VP racing both JASO FD.

I rarely, rarely use the blower - I can’t find Red Armor pre-mix so I’ve been using Husky XP. My dad gets TruFuel which I have to dump into the car, our blower will sputter and stall on it. It starts every time and runs much better on Husky XP - Ace has Stihl Motomix, but I’d rather go with JASO FD oils.

Red armor is a great FD rated OPE oil…but it’s an OPE oil. It can never compare to the 2 stroke Kart and racing oils like Honda HP2.

Try HP2 if you want the best of the best.

Walmart sells VP racing premix. red armor premix should be at home depot.
