Has anyone purchased Fram XG/FSP in bulk from either eBay or Amazon?

I am looking at XG10575/ FSP10575 and the price per filter is drastically less than I can purchase locally and includes free shipping. Every dollar I can save goes towards other toys!

Appreciate any experience not just speculation. Thanks.

Any purchase from Amazon usually works really well. eBay, can be a mixed bag. Look at the satisfaction ratings of the seller.
I've got vehicles that should be sporting RockAuto and Amazon logos instead of the dealer they were bought at.
I just got 6.7 Powerstroke filters from RockAuto on closeout... Hastings, usually in that 15-18 dollar range, 6.50 each.

Discussed many times--try searching for them. The short of it is the FPS filters are the jobber version of the Ultra and does not have the grip texture on the end cap. Otherwise, since they are jobber filters, the warranty would likely not apply to an end-user.

Actually, I asked Jay Buckley (motorking) about this exact question-apparently the eBay resellers are buying Ultras that were returned by retail, and the boxes (on the XG2s I bought) weren't the best-but Jay said they WOULD be covered in the (VERY UNLIKELY) event that one failed. If you buy a case, be sure to inspect them very carefully for dents-you might find a few, I got credit for one dented one from the eBay reseller. The FPS ones SHOULD be perfect looking, AFAIK they're not returned stock (but the cases of regular Ultras tend to be cheaper).

Nothing that I have seen or read about FPS filters states they are returned Ultras--especially since the textured grip is not on them (like the retail Ultra has). They may have the exact same components in them, but they are for two different markets.

No, I said the ULTRAS on eBay were returned by retail, NOT the FPS ones. Here's a lovely photo of one of the XG2 Ultras I bought on eBay-no wonder I had a dent!

Thanks for the responses and insight. I had not thought about the aspect of them being returned, which I guess is more likely than someone going through the hassle of knocking off the filter and packaging.

Guess i will look at ratings and a return policy.
