I use lots of AA batteries for Wireless Microphones in a Church and change out before each Sunday service.
I started off using the Duracell PROCELL AA many years ago with good results but wanted to try a more cost saving battery but in my live environment batteries are mission critical and MUST work 100% all the time, every time.
In a live production situation things move quick and things such as packaging, how easy and quick to open can make or kill the experience. That cellophane around the larger packs of Amazon Basics AA I found totally impossible to open quick, I was alwasy looking for a knife or scissors to open, A TOTAL No Go in my situation!
I loved the Duracell Procell as it came in large box that then has small boxes with 4 AA and was quick and easy to open fast and was my #1 choice for wireless mics but the price was high!
I tried the made In China Amazon AA but the packaging was so hard to open and that slowed me down on a Sunday morning!
Then about 4 years ago I started buying the Rayovac 36. 48 or 60 pack AA and found them to be fantastic batteries, great life, no leaking and EZ and quick to get in and out of the box and was MADE IN THE USA and PRICED GREAT for American made batteries!
I order my batteries once a month and noticed a few months back something changed! I noticed the Rayovac batteries had a slightly different color blue, felt a little different when handling in my hands ( hard to explain ) and then I notice MADE IN INDONESIA! Rats Rayovac!
I thought production in general was coming back to the USA in 2025 so what gives with these INDONESIA made Rayovacs now in 2025?
I have not researched the situation and wonder is it just my supplier or has production been moved?
