I tried sending an e-mail to Terry about purchasing his Dyson Analysis testing kits in bulk, but he never returned my e-mail! :mad

But for those of you who have had experience with Dyson Analysis, how much do their kits normally cost? (I'd be willing to buy a few at a time) I'm not interested in Terry's interpretation, I'm only interested in the kits themselves.

Also, what are the differences between Dyson Analysis and Blackstone. What method is used to measure the TBN?

Thanks.

Michael

The Dyson Analysis with Terry's interpretation is a bargain so I wouldn't blow it off so quickly. His services are in high demand so I'd be patient. Also double check that your email actually got to him.

AFAIK Terry does on-site work, and of course is in the air (transit time), so he can't always have instant access to his email. He'll get back with you.

I'm a little confused about your questions. If you want bulk sampling kits, get them from Blackstone. Why would you go to Terry?

I thinkk Terry Uses Blackstone for his work. He doesn't have a lab persay. Just a lot of knowledge.

Couple other choices, I can get you kits in bulk, either with prepaid shipping or without.

George @ Avlube will also do analysis kits.

Yes Terry provides analysis from Blackstone. And it is outstanding for the price. Great service from Blackstone and quite easy to work with. Very friendly staff if you have any questions. They also sell a great pump for 25 dollars to retrieve samples.

You can say whatever you like, it is an opinion. The service is more than just a TBN. I will stay with Dyson Analysis. You can do what you want. I will continue to support the sponsors of the site. They provide advice on this forum that is free, I don't see many posts from Cat or AVlubes, are they sponsors?

AVLubes IS .

Check the list of site sponsors. It's ExxonMobil.

He posts as GeorgeCLS, and was here recently giving us the information on Mobil's new oils.

This question on this post is about Dyson Analysis and Blackstone. No recommendations for other Labs or prices were asked for, especially by a competing Sponsor. This is uncalled for, and will result in termination of the offending Sponsor if this continues.

Here is the link to AVlubes tests $18.50 which includes TBN. Sounds like a good deal to me!

I don't like to air the site laundry, but I did not hang it out to dry.

Terry will send you kits for a lab that he uses (not blackstone), or you can get the blackstone/dyson #42 kits from blackstone. For a fee, terry will interpret any report. The reports are not identical.......last time I heard, the dyson kits had nit/sulf/oxid numbers instead of insolubles. Terry is a top notch guy, and you get far more than your moneys worth with his interpretation. If he has not responded to your e-mails, then there is a good reason for it.

Please accept my appologies, you are 100% correct. I did step out of line on this one.

As far as Terry is concerned I owe Terry more than most know, as he originally sponsored me into the Amsoil Business back in 1999. He has since transferred all of his Amsoil business over to his brother Chris Dyson who is my Amsoil Sponsor. So we still have a connection in some way.

Anyhow, Terry would be happy to analize any analysis for a fee. You can probably get the Blackstone kits and would be fine.

Again, I appologize for my inconsideration to the original post. I know I wouldn't want the same treatment of my posts.

Sincerely,

Michael Sparks

I'm not sure I can add any value at this point -- but I'll try anyway. Terry has been very responsive to my questions. With each of the Blackstone-Dyson packages, I hit him with several rounds of follow up questions, to which he's always commendably responsive. Although I've never met him in person, I'd bet that he'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I'll be doing business with him for a long time, and if I ever make my way through Greenville TX, he will discover that every once in a while, there is such a thing as a free lunch.

Michael, sorry for the delayed response but I travel up to 20 days a month. Just back from the UK so thanks for the patience.

In addition to my tribological work I am also a professional pilot so I fly way more than I want to.

Whether it is working for a racing team overseas , consulting with a NASCAR great in Mooresville NC, or flying Pablo to China, or my favorite , civilian volunteer pilot flying US fighting Men and Women to hot spots all over the world , I stretch my self very thin. See you repubs even a Libertarian can be a supporter of defending this country !!!

My services are such that I really don't care what lab's I have to read but need dependable data to use to fine tune your engine, trans, differential. I'll interpret any labs data for $20 per test.

Blackstone, Butler, Avlube, are all good labs that contribute to the mix here like Dyson Analysis. My agreement with Blackstone is a CO-OP agreement like many I have with labs I have done proprietary testing with and for years. Blackstone labs is family owned and a great asset to anyone and this site. They have been very professional and honest with me unlike others I have dealt with.

I make no money selling anything except useable oil analysis interpretation, and a service that exceeds anything in the automotive oil analysis business.

In the past I sold Amsoil with my diesel and automotive repair business and as Mike shared above I transferred the whole deal to my Brother so there would be no conflict of interest when I decided to take the analysis business to the "people" on the internet, instead of just proprietary consult.

If you are going to interpret your own automotive oil analysis data it can be done but it took me about 15 years to begin to figure it out, but heck I am slow.

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for asking.

Thanks all for the kind words.

God Bless.

Terry
