Hauled 7 loads in for the county yesterday and have a lot more to go. We have a new Presiding Commissioner and she is really trying to get our county roads back into shape. They plan to keep me busy just hauling rock for them. Tailgating is probably one of my favorite jobs. I’ll spread it roughly 2” thick and they’ll dress it up with a grader.
Awesome pictures and you do great work from what I am witnessingHauled 7 loads in for the county yesterday and have a lot more to go. @Creekside this is the downfall to older equipment. The good news is hopefully it is paid off and you don't have a payment each month for roughly half that amount... That said, lost business is lost business. Good luck man, hoping for a speedy fix!Not so happy update to share, while business is exploding right now the output shaft bearing in the transmission let go today. I have parts ordered to fix it and hopefully the bearing is all that failed or was damaged. If the bearing doesn’t fix it we’re headed to the gear shop next week for a full transmission overhaul. With parts, labor, R&R, and a tow I imagine this will be approaching $8000 if it comes to an overhaul. Fingers are crossed that the damage is minor.
The total miles on the truck is 246k, I replaced the output shaft seal around 12k ago but it doesn't seem to be related to anything I did to it. They're incredibly bulletproof transmissions but concrete mixer duty is really hard on everything. How many miles do you have on this transmission ?
Yes I believe soPortable jacks, do they sync together when lifting?
That sucks @Creekside for you but glad you got ‘er fixed! Hopefully you can put the truck back to work and get this behind you.Picked her up from the shop today. We did a reman transmission, rebuilt and balanced the driveline(slip yoke splines we’re starting to wear), new shift tower, and a bunch of little stuff. I also had 4 new drive tires installed today on the way home. This repair with the tires was around $14,000 all together. That does not include lost revenue though.
It is already booked for tomorrow and all next week so I think we’ll get over it soon. I’m looking at it as a blessing, it gave me time to take care of some other things and it could have been worse. That sucks @Creekside for you but glad you got ‘er fixed! Just my $0.02
