I have been looking at the photos from this site:

Up to 8 inches of rain in northern Minnesota over night, flooding in 5 counties. Seems Duluth got the worst of the flooding, presumably because it is built on the high bluff.

But how is it in Superior Wisconsin? My brother lives there in South Superior. His neighborhood looks to be at least 50 feet higher than the nearby river and streams. I would guess that at most he got some local flooding. Superior is pretty flat, but also very low compared to Duluth.

I'm south, but got hit bad 2 days ago.

Hundreds of branches in the yard. 14 power poles got knoched down by 80MPH winds & my Wife watched one of those power poles drop on a car at 4:20 AM on the way to work.

Glad you're OK!

"THIS IS ON TOP OF THE 5 TO 9 INCHES OF RAIN THAT HAS ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS DULUTH AND THE NORTH SHORE OF LAKE SUPERIOR OVERNIGHT."

That's incredible. We had a 3 inch rain (with golfball sized hail) 2 weeks ago and I thought the world was ending. I can't imagine what 9 inches of rain in 24 hours would do to my house.

Wow! I saw on the news that Sunday night that had a bad storm headed for the Twin Cities, but it looks like Duluth got the worst of it.

Actually parts of the Twin Cities did get hit hard by a storm on Sunday night / Monday morning. The pile by the curb that used to be a large tree in my yard is testament to that...

Duluth did get pummeled though...

I feel for those folks. We lived through something similar in 1993; fortunately we were on high ground and were not directly impacted. I can't imagine trying to recover a home from a flood.

Six inches in a few hours about a year ago resulted in a lot of flooding in my neighborhood and adjacent communities, and otherwise I never saw such flooding in the 22 years I have lived here.
