DRT Ammo

DRT, Cute name. I'm sure in no way did they think of the other common acronym that usually stands for when they came up with their company name.

Personally, I don't put a lot of thought into the ammo. I pick one that I shoot well and know will cycle the gun properly. I don't go hunting for the next greatest thing. Practice and shot placement is more important to me.
 
It looks effective as a self defense round to me. I’d wanna see more test however before choosing this round. There’s better and worse to choose from. Some of the lighter 9mm rounds in the market don’t have enough penetration for a good self defense round.

I have to agree. That's why l only EDC/shoot Winchester Ranger T-Series JHP ammo.

Yea, that's what we use at work. EDC for me is HST. I wouldn't mind doing the Ranger in my .40's but I don't feel like taking out a second mortgage just to shoot a couple of hundred rounds through each of the 4 EDC guns.

Works great in my firearms. Beggars can be choosers these days.

If it test functions fine, then enjoy the ammo. Its been around for a some time and either loved/hated by many.

It has worked well for me and never had any function problems with my 380-45 pocket guns. Being a low grain light bullet and low recoil round, it might not move a slide with an overly strong aftermarket spring.

We switched to G17 Gen4's a couple of years back. Prior to that, we provided our own and I was using my G22 Gen 3 (I Still prefer the G3 pistols).

I don't own any Glocks, currently. But, I do own several LE trade in FS M&P 40's. Along with other semi autos.
I prefer the M&P over a Glock any day.
I just recently bought my son a G43 thru the Blue Label Program for $390.
Now he wants a Shield Plus. :rolleyes:

My G22 was my first gun way back in 97 and I sort of never looked back. I've had 1911's and some other assorted ones but I always go back to them. Not because I think they are 'the best', but they are an outstanding tool and that's what I have them for. Well, other than my G35 and G24C knockoff, those are for fun. I'm also pretty big on picking something and staying with it long term and the Glocks do that for me.

It was pretty funny when I qualified with my G24C and carried it to work a few days just for giggles. I wasn't going anywhere but the Detention Center and back and boy did I get the looks with that big thing hanging out of the holster. :)
 
Looks like it would get the point across. I sometimes carry a similar round from Federal called Federal Defense.

One of these days l'm going to buy me a G22.5. I prefer the longer grip and slide. The G23 doesn't fit my hand. My pinky is out in limbo.
I'm thru buying 9mm guns. I prefer the 40 over 9mm all day long. I want the Gen 5 due to no finger grips. I don't like being made to put my fingers on the grip where they don't want go be.
 
I'd take a .40 any day of the week and twice on Sunday, but not personally a huge fan of Gen 5's even though I currently carry one. It's been fine but I really think Glock peaked at Gen 3 and I also like the Gen 4's.

I'm mad at Sig yet again so I've been pondering a G48 lately.

What do you think of the Shield Plus?
I called S&W last week asking if they plan to release just a Shield Plus trigger for M&P's. Of course, the answer was NO. :(

I don't know much about the Shield plus. Everyone I know who has a Shield likes it and has had no problems at all with it, hopefully that will carry over to the Plus.
