I use and very much like Dr. Bronner's soaps, but I have never tried any of his shaving gels. They are all fair trade and organic, the price is reasonable at $9 for a 7 oz tube. They have lavender, spearmint, tea tree, lemongrass-lime and unscented. Has anyone tried any of these?

I use this 3 dollar soap I get at the drug store. Van Der Hagen I believe it is. I bought it for the brush and the bowl, and ended up liking the soap so I just buy that.

I did try another drugstore brand in a white/blue box, and it sucked! Left my face dry and had no lubricity compared to the Van Der Hagen in the green and tan box.

Van der Hagen shaving soap isn't bad. It's my go-to substitute when I'm on the road and I have forgotten my shaving soap at home. Every Walgreens and RiteAid even in the most remote pit carries Van der Hagen. I even bought their cheap brush once, because I'd left mine at home. For under $10, the brush was not half bad either. To my great surprise I saw a while ago that Van der Hagen sells a TTO DE razor for a bit over $20. I presume it's a rebranded Chinese razor.

Do you still have to use some post shave lotion, or does Dr. Bronner's shave gel condition the skin sufficiently?
