Hi All,

I just wanted to double check my choice of engine air filters from those who know more. It is ok if these choices are not the absolute best, what I am shooting for is good to pretty good.

2011 Toyota Prius: Fram TG10358 (10k OCI with M1 or Valvoline synthetic)
2018 Ford F150: Motorcraft FL-2062 or Fram TG11955 (likely 7.5k OCI with M1 synthetic)

(Also, anyone know of a place that such filters can be bought in multi-packs for a discount?)

Thanks!

For Toyota, the OEM filter is available from Ebay for like $35 (10 packs) or $18 (5 packs), etc.
Seller like Conicelli (sp?) Toyota.
It is usually cheaper than getting from their website directly (not sure why).

Toyota OEM cartridge filter is very good and it should last 10k OCI.

I'm using Fram's Chinese TG10358. Seems ok so far, but is overpriced at Walmart. More later when I take it out.

Why bother wasting more money on a Chinese made fram when you can get a Chinese made premium guard for less. Either way some American company is getting rich by making China rich with your money.

The Mahle cartridge is made in Austria

I might follow your suggestion, if there's reason to believe the Premium Guard is as good, and is available for less without paying disproportionate Rock Auto shipping.

Meanwhile, the US-made Super Tech version (which looks extremely similar to earlier, US-made Extra Guards) is only $3, compared to over double that for a new Chinese Extra Guard, or nearly $9 for a Chinese Tough Guard at Walmart.

That makes a lot of sense to me.

Now I see the corresponding Premium Guard is ~$14 from Amazon. Ha-ha! So much for that idea ...

WOW that's crazy! Yeah that super tech for $3 looks pretty good considering the cost of the fram and premium guard options.
It all depends on what's important to you. If efficiency is important to you the fram might be better than the super tech but I doubt it's enough to matter really.
You could have 2 St for the price of 1 eg.
