I've got Sirius and love it.. it should be noted though that only the music is commercial free, not the talk stations. under their "financial news" genre they've got Bloomburg and CNBC listed. I'm not too familiar with it, not one of my interests.
XM has: Bloomberg, MSNBC, CNBC

You know, I thought the same thing till we got our van that had a free Sirius trial. I now have it in both vehicles. I love it, and hardly ever listen to local anymore. If your in the car a lot, especially from city to city, it is just great. No searching for new stations.
