drew, i think you are missing it. in 42 OAs, exactly one oil sheared out of grade. while shear stability is certainly something to watch, with one exception, none of the oils made it out of grade.
to your question, the 0w-20 oils actually seemed to keep closer in grade. 8.5 used average vs 8.6 new. that kinda puts the "spread" issue to bed.
