Dodge 5.7L Hemi- Which Synthetic?

I used the search but didn't find what I was looking for. I have a new 2007 Dodge 1500 Ram with the 5.7L Hemi. I just changed the oil at 1,000 miles and put in Mobil 1. Is there another oil that you guys would recommend? I plan to do oil changes every 5,000 miles. I don't run it hard, and tow very little. It is a 4x4 if that helps. Thanks!

Pennzoil Platinum. But you could do 5,000 easy miles with a blend or dino.

Valvoline Synpower 5W-20 @ 7 quarts.

If you don't have the cylinder MDS (Multiple Displacement System) you can go with a 5w30.

Yes, it has MDS. Would using 5w30 really affect that? I have a buddy with the same truck that uses 5w30 Mobil 1. His MDS works fine.

Chrysler says it can. I would use the 5W20 more so because of where you are (cold).

"Vehicles with the 5.7 Multiple Displacement SYS (MDS)
must use SAE 5W-20 oil. Failure to do so may result in
improper operation of the Multiple Displacement SYS (MDS)."

Yep... Amsoil XLM is a good synthetics choice. But any blend - from any name-brand producer, is trust-worthy for 5K OCIs.
