I would probably still run a synthetic oil, unless you are a total cheapskate like many on this forum are.

Being cheap is not a reason why not to use synthetics. What is the point in a 7qt pan? I do not understand why so many people start hemming and hawing about the most tested and likely the most durable part of a Ram and where a synthetic fluid would have the very least performance advantage.

Or are you providing unsubstantiated opinion on "feelings"? Because if there has been any study that has shown that using a synthetic PCMO leads to longer engine life where not recommended by the OEM changed at the specified OEM intervals I would like to read it.

I don't think anyone here disagrees that a good Dino isn't sufficient the point is, personally I feel more comfortable using a synthetic. The price of 15$ more per oil change is worth it in piece of mind to me. Ive worked hard to buy a brand new $30k truck and I don't see a problem in using what I feel comfortable with. I've used Mobil conventional, pennzoil conventiionals and synthetics and liked them all. I just prefer to have a synthetic oil. Thanks for the replies and opinions.

I meant I don't think anyone disagrees a good Dino is sufficient. Sorry for the typo above.

I dont care what the cost of an oil is or if there is no benefit whatsoever, I tend to use the best possible products whether I need them or not, and change them out early too. Im the exact opposite of folks on here, instead of seeing how long I can run an oil, I see how short I can run an oil.

Even though a Hemi will run on any oil reliably, and I believe that, Im still going to run something good. Currently 5W30 PU and in the winter 5W20 PU.

In my performance engines I use Redline 5W30 and change it at 3K intervals. That's what I call well maintained, others may call wasteful.
