What places are those?
Special metallic places with iron.
Seriously this was tongue-in-cheek but there is the life lived without covering the windows with foil and accepting the death rays willingly.
Depends on if the filter media would catch the ferrous particles anyway.
What else do most of those million mile vehicles have in common?
Well, they are NOT Yugos!
More miles between those pesky ring jobs.
I have yet to have a car last long enough to have an engine problem related to oil or oil filters. I do use high-efficiency filters and quality oil because it makes me feel better, but where I live the rust destroys the rest of the car long before the engine can die from regular use.

With all those magnets you're running the risk of reversing the polarity of the flux capacitor. 
You're messing with the polarity of your oil molecules. Never drive this car on nights with a full moon.

The idea behind placing neodymium magnets on the oil filter of a car engine is to attract and hold metal particles that have been worn off the engine components and are circulating in the oil. On my SS, when I did the break in oil change at 750 miles, the filter had a decent amount of shiny bits in it. None of that was in the oil pan. I'd say all that is unecessary especially when using a Fram Ultra.

How about cutting it open after 15,656 miles? Here's the last one I did. It's after dark and the pictures weren't easy. I normally run Amsoil, so a temporary "switch" to Fram is near sacrilege.
