I picked up a Fram Ultra XG12447 from Walmart today for my 3.0 Duramax diesel and wanted to share as it seems to have a recent date code but doesn't have an E-Core construction. I don't know what I am talking about however and just wanted to share for all the experts out there.

I just saw this at a Weimart in Indianapolis that was in an opened Ultra Box, 7317 series. I don't need any right now as I'm still going through my stash of OG wire backed ultras but this is a very positive development and I might look to buy some of these in the future.
all ultra at Walmart is sealed up. Are you guys cut it open at Walmart ?

I’m open..tell me why E Core is superior to louver design. Need data.
Don't have to inspect for choked down louvers. Same with center tubes with holes, like the PGI made filter.

I do, yes. I pull my Leatherman and cut the tape. The filter gets inspected before I buy it.

After 50 years of customer stupidity the word data is a curse word to me however when was the last time you saw a closed louver E Core?
