Direct sales of EVs

I'm sure if the market wants it that would change it. I wouldn't want to give up business, but at the same time I wouldn't want to give up real estate if they don't sell in the area.
They did an analysis, and as it stands now they're not willing to tie up the real estate or the cash taking EV trades. When enough people come in asking for them things will change, that's business.

They are well off to stay away- they don't know the first thing about any of them, even their own products.

Nothing.

They barely know their own ICE product.

Most people around here seem to have an ICE car and an EV. My friend with a Bolt has an Expedition he uses to tow trailers, haul stuff, drive cross-country, but it sits 90% of the time and his Bolt is his daily driver. He drives A LOT! He has solar, so he saves oodles of money on gas, plus as he lives in the East Bay, the carpool lane access has lots of value.
If you consider registration, insurance, depreciation and place to keep his Expedition maybe he should rent instead. Depends on use of course.

Can’t rent an expedition or a towing vehicle unless maybe a Uhaul truck.

Both buddies I'm referring to know their ICE products. One however deals strictly in used cars, the other new and used Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram.

Saving money is good but everyone enjoys thier own luxury, hobbies and interests. Some could care less about $3, $4 or $5 gas 🙃 to travel comfortably.
It’s pick your poison, I just wish my tax money didn’t support EV buyers.
Other than that I’m good with EVs in the meantime driving a compact EV car Vs a 3 row SUV with tow package is priceless to me in the Caroliner’s which btw gas is $2.99 a gallon this weekend.

My taxes support fuel subsidies too, so I double dip. 😂

Yeah, but unfortunately, that’s a bad comparison because your taxes support an electric grid to charge your car and I will be paying for that even more than I do now in the future.
However, nobody gives me $7500 to buy a gas vehicle but they give buyers of electric vehicles $7500

Just talking here, but I hear this argument all the time about supporting gasoline production and that’s really a perverted comparison because we use this diversion as if a valid argument, while ignoring public support of electric infrastructure.
Very very poor argument. I even have to support the fuel that the power plants use to produce the electricity and the transmission system to charge electric cars.

That’s all OK just give me $7500 to purchase a gas vehicle

That's just me being a pain. I don't think we should do any subsidies. It's always passing the buck and there's nearly nothing we pay full value that we actually know what the final price is.
