^^^ Jim went MIA ... his last post on this board was 01/22/14.

I speak with him occasionally.

He's busy with other things in his life. He farms as well as writes lots of articles in the automotive world, especially in 4x4 mags, and is published with many books to his credit. He does not have time to come here and combat the prevalent banter, so to speak.

I didn't see his post for a while, I thought he didn't post for 5-6 months. So, a year and a half flew by quickly.

Too bad he left ... he added a bunch of good technical information with data to back up his inputs. I guess I can see why he bailed out for good.

Agreed! He and I collaborated on a number of things and provided some of the results here. A serious loss to the board, but I definitely see the reason that he left--too much bovine scatology and argumentative trolls.

We don't need factually based well informed opinions and information around here when we can just post whatever biased opinion we decided to believe that is based on what someone else mashed onto their keyboard.

Perfectly understood in this quarter. Besides his knowledge, Jim brought an integrity of thought and opinion here. Going along with that I shared a similar seminar type experience, and through PM similar observations regarding the notable differences between the factual side as presented by engineers and the less factual promotion from the marketing side.

As much as his contributions on the factual side such as this thread are missed, from my observation it's the loss of integrity that are equally if not more missed.

However as said, perfectly understandable about time to quibble with the chaff, no pun intended. And I'd imagine even less so for shenanigans that now frequently accompany it.

Please tell him that there are still some of us who miss his input, irrespective of the other [censored].

Same goes for you, too...
