Non-destructive Ruffles® Bypass Valve testing

I'm surprised to see 1/2 so close to each other considering their different construction ...
Maybe they both have a pretty good leaf spring leak, and that over rides the effect of the differences between them.

... while 1/3 performed quite differently despite being made the same day. I would assume from this that filter 1 leaks significantly more than filter 3. Hard to judge filter 2 here.
Get out the chicken bones, Ouija board and the Magic 8-Ball for an answer. 😄

So what's the progression?
Holes + wire backing -> Holes w/o wire backing -> Louvers?
Some had louvers with wire backing and no end cap seal ring. In the days of change flux, there were all kinds of configurations on the self for awhille.

The FEs sit between about 10.5-11.5 kPa, while the XGs are 12-13 kPa. FS1/2 are right around 9.5 kPa, and FS3 is about 10.5 kPa.

I'm half joking, but vs the XG, does this mean the Fram Powerflow Technology on the Titanium is doing something?

Might be if the rest of the filter is pretty much identical. Although I'm more curious about the impact on the ADBVs. Testing those now, and the first XG was leaking badly.

I’ve been tracking date codes for the OG change over to new style for about a year or so. As of a day or two ago a 2024 was found with louvers and wire backing. This really put a wrench in my attempt to narrow down a date(plus new $15.99 price). We also discovered all different configurations of holes, louvers, wire backing/non wire backing. Personally I like the round hole wire backed version(pink media). Easy to spot.
