Difference between Fram oil filters?

How is the ST better? Because it has metal end caps? They bother have average filtration, both have steel center tube, both ahve leaf spring, with a nitrite ADBV. Seems to be the only difference is the end caps. I don't know where the ST has the advantage for 3K-5K. Most us wouldn't use either for an extended drain anyways.

OK, JOD, I'm gonna go with your opinion based on the gravitas of the '84 GTI, unless Sayjac says he owned a '90 or '91 Civic Si. (Much as I liked my GTI, my Si's were better auto-x'ers.)

Well, if it strengthens my case at all, I went from the GTI to an '88 CRX Si, to a 93 Sentra SE-R! I won't mention the next car, since it kinda signified the beginning of the end for me and driving--a 90hp full-size wagon...
