Diff between Chev Techron, Val Maxlife FSC, Val SynPwr Complete FSC

What is the differance between Chevron's Techron, and Valvoline's SynPower Complete Fuel System Cleaner, SynPwr Fuel Injector Cleaner, and Valvoline MaxLife Fuel System Cleaners?

Are they all good products?

I have 2 high mileage vehicles and 2 low mileage vehicles. I'm going to drop the fuel tank on my '95 K1500 and clean it out and clean the pick up screen, and want to run quality fuel cleaners through 2 tanks. Which should I use. I was thinking about using (2) 12 oz Techron's in one tank, followed by another tank or two using Val's products.

I'd use the Techron over Valvoline.
Regardless of what you choose, just use it and see if it helps. And, use a bottle of whatever 3-4 times a year as preventive maintenance.

Valvoline SynPower Complete Fuel System Cleaner is one of the best injector cleaners I've used.

My reason for saying this is that VSCFSC produced some of the most immediate and obvious results.

I bought some today for our 1990 Chevy pickup.

I now use FP60.

But, I've used Chevron Techron for almost 30 years, and Redline SL-1 and Valvoline SynPower Complete Fuel System Cleaner for 8 years.

They are all good, IMHO.

BG Products 44K is also good, but way overpriced.

Chevron Techron concentrate is the original PEA-based fuel system cleaner. Chevron invented and patented the core PEA technology. It is still claimed (in writing) as "unbeatable" at what it does versus all other similar other products. Auto OEMs seem to like Chevron's technology too (the GM product is in a Chevron bottle).

In addditon, other Chevron PEA-based technologies (not Techron) are sold by Oronite to various other Marketers for aftermarket sales in formulations of their choosing (i.e. sometimes cut with kerosenefluids and maybe with other ingredients added...it varies). Shell has Vektron which is sold to others too. I think Valovline uses Vektron-based formulas, but am not 100% sure....I'd guess they bid for the cheapest that works realibly.

There may be one or two other PEA "OEMs". Only a few companies cna make the complicated active ingredients in this type of stuff, and the resellers determine how much to change it and what they can claim about it...YMMV

Certinaly some others products might be "as good" Techron.
