Yeah the whole reason for that goofy coil puller (and I have one) is because VW didn't use silicone grease when assembling the vehicle. Should I then trust them for the spark plugs themselves?
Having a spark plug get stuck is a whole lot worse than the boot. I used a bit of anti-seize when I replaced the plugs in my Tiguan.
