Is there a dealership version of BITOG where all the techs complain about oil retentive customers?

you should not have said anything.. Mobil 1 is way better than toyota oil. and it does require oil (5W30). you cant run it on air .

Could you post this document from Toyota . Ask this because many service centers are not aware of this . Thanks and hope you have better experiences in the future .

I don't really know why you think I said the vehicle didn't require oil. Tech said it required 5w30, and I disagreed. Also, where is your proof that M1 is "better" for a Toyota engine than Toyota oil? Don't get me wrong, I use M1 in my Civic, but saying it's downright better than Toyota for my van... I would need proof.

I'm aware of that one . For Canada . If there's one similar for the U.S. , it's very rare or non existent . Most service center staff are not aware of it . Toyota corporation seems to keep its U.S. service centers in the dark ages . What's up with that ?

I know. Every time I call to ask them something, I get a different answer to the same question. They even told me the new Sienna can go 10k OCI because it "requires" 0w-20 while the "older one", mine, the 2010, cannot. They have the same exact engine.

I was on hold for several minutes before they came back and said, Yeah... I guess it can go 10k...

Sounds familiar . Like you stated , same engines and similar climate for most of the U.S.. Many service centers aren't even aware of the T.S.B. EG018-06 posted back in March of 2006 for the use of 5w-20 and 0w-20 . We had the service center of where we bought the '08 Yaris sedan from email the T.S.B. to us with their approval for 5w-20 . Made a copy and keep it with the paperwork for any warranty issues .
