Builder of the home I just purchased used Deako for all switches. I had never heard of them prior to this, but it's a pretty slick concept. Form factor is like a decora but more squared off. Basically, the switches are easily interchangeable and if you wanted to say add a dimmer switch to a circuit you simply pop off the face plate (no screws) and then pull the cyan tab which allows the entire switch to slide out. It has small contacts on the back which complete the circuit. So, a switch change is a literal 20 second job. They have dumb and smart switches as desired. I have smart switches on all the exterior lights to allow not only remote control but timed on/off synchronized with sunset and sunrise times. Pretty cool, has anyone else used these? Long-term reliability? House is only 2 years old so hard to say.

Their smart switches are just terrible value and don't work that good with 3rd party integrations and homeassistant. Better get cheaper z-wave alternatives from a lot of other options.

I hate them just like I hate Decora switches.
Give me the silent switches of old..
My new house has them but they wouldn't offer an alternative so I'll just deal. The builders agent goes in there and clacks them....geez 😆

My childhood home, built at the turn of the century, still had plumbing for gas lighting. I can't confirm if electricity was installed later on or originally, but it was knob and tube in some parts, so the upgrade had to be early on.

Anyway, the early light switches were push button like this one:

Certainly a lot of fun when I was a kid!

Here's a NIB one from long ago. You can "upgrade" one of the lights in your new place:
