Damage brake pad can I use it?

Looks like one of the pads got damaged in the box on delivery can it be used or is it dangerous and should be sent back and delay the brake job till next week or so?

I would send it back and ask for a replacement....

it would probably be okay, but might wear a little faster. I would not use if replacement is possible. Also question how and why this happened and doubt the quality of the pad.

I wouldn't use it. It may start flaking apart when put in use.

send back request a refund and pick up a set of pads locally. could possibly cause uneven pad wear or just not perform as it should

Maybe your return will be the instance which makes the involved parties take notice and improve packing / shipping.

The damage is surprising, because it looks like it was banging around inside the box. Most of the pads I have bought (Akebono, OEM Mercedes, EBC) are tightly wrapped in plastic wrap and tightly fitted to the box - they don’t bang around.

You’re in the UK - any thought given to EBC brakes? I have been very happy with their performance on my Tundra.

It was dropped on a concrete floor at some point. It's probably fine in truth but swap it if time allows

Go to a local parts store, buy a set of pads, get a refund on these damaged ones.

The pad would probably be OK, but you should get what you paid for.
There would need to be a compelling reason for me to use it.

Yep iv bought pagid and brembo in the past and they are shrink wrapped. Together inside the box. These ones were just stacked together no bubble wrap or anything. They were brand new box was sealed and inside a jiffy bag when posted to me. They are heavy so I suspect a drop by delivery company would have easily done this.
They cost £24 delivered and the eBay car parts shop doesn't look to have more in stock so probably will get a refund although buying from somewhere like autodoc means paying £35 + delivery on top.
