Current top 0w-20’s?

Here is a 2 runs on a 2021 Gladiator 3.6 I used to own new. Amsoil Signature series 0w-20. As far ass viscosity retention is did amazing. Now I never got around to why there was no much iron in the oil. I think the engine was eating a cam but no way to tell. Common on 3.6. I highly recommend you run a 5w30 or 0w-30 in this engine. Honestly 40 weight wouldn’t be bad however Amsoil 5w-30 SS is a good standard.

Ok the 68 number is here. That's a very new engine. Oil was changed when it had a litttle over 10k miles on it. 68 makes sense here. 68 would be alarming if engine had like 60k miles on it.

We have 2 JGCs with the PUG and I've been running Motul 8100 EcoClean as it's rated for (not an approval) Chrysler spec MS12145, which specifically notes the Pentastar Upgrade. Been working well, no issues. Had been running PUP 0w20 but had excsssive cold start up rattle, which is now gone. Reasonably priced (at least to me) from FCP Euro, with great service. As a bonus to me, it's approved for BMW LL17 FE + spec, so I can use it in our 230is. One oil for 4 cars, WhooHoo!

Thats the same reason i stopped using PUP in my PUG. I switched to Amsoil and it also got rid of the rattle. Im gonna try Mobil 1 EP in the future to see how it does.

I like their 0w30.

I have a 2021 jeep gladiator with the updated 3.6 PUG pentastar. Looking to run 0w20 until the warranty is out (10k more miles). Whats the current best 0w20’s? Preferably on the shelf. I was considering Amsoil but at $15 a quart it is pricey and not sure it’s THAT much better.
With preferred pricing SS is about 11.00 a qrt. One order pays for the preferred pricing. Amsoil has served me well even in yard equipment.

Can get it even lower with case of gallon jugs. And you get little freebies sometimes too. I love my Amsoil magnetic tray for screws. I know I could just buy it myself for cheaper but it’s nice. Like getting a little treat in the cereal box as a kid ha. Plus you get 5% back on every try if you spend. It adds up to bring it down a bit more.

I ordered a case of SS 0W30 for the Pilot which is due soon. It asked me if I wanted to save $1.00 something if I went to the jugs. So did.

Performed quite admirably, not pricey either if you buy it wisely.

The inclusion of manufacturers' specifications on oil containers is a big business.

As a general rule, paying attention to the viscosity index and API certification and choosing a recognised brand is more than enough.

Otherwise, you are very lucky, as oil is significantly less expensive in your country than in Europe.

Yes, you have it rough in that regard. Here, 5 quarts of 504 00 approved oil is $28.

Sorry autocorrect got the best of me. “5% back on everything you spend.”

For people running 5000 mile or 6 months changes, I'd say the "top current" oil is something like Kirkland/SuperTech. This assumes normal usage. No crazy extreme case special circumstances like towing, driving at the artic circle, or living on a dirt road, stuff like that. Cost must be part of the equation, unless the question changes...

What if someone is doing 5000 mile or 6 month changes AND has frequent short trips, harsh winters, hot summers, and drives in the mountains and offroads a bit? Would Kirkland/ST not provide sufficient protection?

I'd run the Warren oil, and change at 4000 miles! Ha ha. You are trying to trap me.

Amsoil Signature Series is what I use. In fact, I'm due to order another case.

I appeared to have paid $11.23 for it. My car is worth that amount.
