Current Oils with Dexos 1 Gen 3 approval?

They’re just draining the swamp 5w-30 will be the new norm and manufacture certs won’t mean a thing.

You’re correct for the pre made formulas. Anything outside that formula is on the blender. I learned this from a live q&a with Ravenol and LSJR. I was shocked at the cost.

I believe this is the vid.

Given the number of flavors that most majors have, I can't imagine paying $2.5M per line to test. These products are mainly marketed towards the DIY market and that market has been shrinking every year. I would expect a lot of these to be pre-made formulas.

I know all the house brands 100% are pre-made formulas. The majors that own or co-own additive companies are all set. The others I’m not sure.

In the current situation I wonder if base oil availability is changing so fast even the additive companies are holding off on testing?

Numerous major brands have removed their Dexos approval in recent months due to the ongoing industry issues. Does anyone know which Dexos options remain available for in-warranty vehicles? The GM site does not appear to be updated.

Thanks.
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum has lost its "Dexos GM Approval" as Shell was forced to change its formulation process following the Iranian missile strike on Shell's Pearl GTL plant in Ras Laffan, Qatar. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is now a Hydrocracked Oil, not an ultra-pure GTL Oil.

I don't remember Pennzoil Ultra Platinum having Dexos 1 approval. Regular Pennzoil Platinum did.
