Curious to hear your experience with the 2.0tsfi bpy VW engine

As the title states I'm interested in knowing more about the BPY 2.0 TSFI engine from Volkswagen. I know these had some cam follower issues with the high pressure fuel pump is that really as big a deal as the internet makes the sound? And is the carbon build up as big a deal as the internet makes it sound? Just looking to a game more knowledge and understanding of this engine. Thanks everyone!

I had a 2nd generation Audi A3 TSFI with I want to say 200k miles on it. I replaced the follower as I also read all the dreaded news on the net. It didn't need it, once I got it apart and inspected it.

I'd own one over a Gen1/2 EA888 from the same era, but that's as far as I would go.
