Hello all,
Managed to get 3 gallons of this stuff to run one oci on my Fiesta ST that calls for 5W20 and an Audi 2TFSi with oil consumption issues and known for piston ring problems.
First of all will there be any issue running it for one interval because of the different weight 10W30 vs 5W20/5W40?
Has anyone had any experience with this oil and what does the community think of it in general?
Thanks very much!

If this is the blue jug of 10W-30 then it's been available from Cummins dealers forever. If we're talking about the same stuff then I pay about $15 per gallon. Of course, this might not be what you're talking about.

How much did it cost for 3 Gallons of this Oil?

What did you end up paying? That looks like some pretty old stock with the packaging stating that it's American owned and Operated.

edit: I commented before you stated the price. That's what they told me the price was at the Cummins dealer but they no longer carried this particular product. I suspect it's because of the cost.

Keep us posted on the success with your oil burn.

Yeah i thought the same but I was after restore anyway, didn't matter if it was gen 2 or not

HPL is only about $40/gal and it’s designed for gasoline engines, which the Restore is not.

Are you planning on getting a VOA from a lab that tests oxidation & nitration? 👍🏻
I had no idea about HPL but I'll check it out.
On the website that advertise the premium blue Gen 2 restore they mentioned that it was for both Diesel and gasoline applications but the website has since been taken down or is no longer available in Canada where I live and since it looks like I got generation 1 restore it might not be good for the catalytic converter in the Audi but my Fiesta is modified and has a high flow cat that I'm not too worried about

If no one has done a UOA on this oil yet I'll be sure to do so and post it here but I only plan to run it for 2500 mi or so so I don't know how helpful it will be

Unpopular opinion:

CNG & Diesel engine oils are a huge series of compromises. They don’t do anything well. The Valvoline product isn’t any different than the C800 or P66/Kendall Super D-NG oil. Or any other all in one oil that all the majors offer.

I don’t particularly like recommending them.

They do need a particularly heavier detergent package, from my understanding, for use of CNG. So I imagine that’s where the “restore” comes in. As CNG sometimes can be bio-gas, which is particularly dirty. You probably won’t see that in a UOA however.

Food for thought. I wish the industry never did the all in one oils. And kept the CNG world separated off.
