Valvoline Premium Blue Restore Gen 2 made for Cummins, any here used it?

Found it on Ebay
$69 for 3 gallons, had me thinking but I guess not restore and protect.

I have a 2005 Cummins Ram diesel truck and it has no emission devices. No EGR. DEF etc... as Factory

Why not if I wanted, use regular 5w-30 restore and protect made for gas engines, I think it is a lot less cost

How much oil are burning to need a $300 oil change? You might get away with that 5w-30 gas oil doing 2000 mile changes cruising the highway. The first time towing your skid-steer or 5th wheel rods and crank with be high fiving bearings.

Not burning any oil for now.
The restore product for diesels is a 30w oil too.
I don't tow anything with my truck
I have 170,000 miles on this truck.
It runs excellent.

$300 for the diesel version?

You can buy the restore oil for gas version at Walmart, $120 for 5 gallons
I bought that for our car.

That price of $20 per gallon is an excellent deal. And you can run this oil all the time, not just for cleaning.

It is a heavy box, with a plastic oil bag and a spigot. I transfer oil from box to an old oil jug, then pour that in the car.

I realize this is aimed at Cummins, but it would be cool if they made it in 5W40 or 15W40 for us HEUI Powerstroke people.
Valvoline says is diesels CK-4 rated
Still says cleans in a single service.
Idea is half way through cleaning, change oil filter

This Motor Oil Geek video's topic answers most all of the points brought up using Valvoline Premium Blue Restore vs Valvoline Restore and Protect. He's at the Valvoline lab where testing is done and results analyzed. Starting at 14:30, the Valvoline guy talks specifically about why the rate of carbon reduction is not too fast. Spoiler: They don't want to overwhelm the filter causing it to go into bypass. Extremely helpful video. Had I not already stocked up on HPL Premium Plus PCMO, I'd be using this oil. I'm going to start using this in my daughter's CR-V with almost 200k miles.
