Why do they have to change things so ofter and then not carry the stuff for older stuff they sold?

Why are there atlas three different attachment methods for blades?

Why are there at least two different 547cc engines?

They did this with the old John Deere JS63 too....

Anyhow, Cub Still has the stuff you just have to order it...

Lots of office staff that needs to justify their jobs. Marketing who 'needs' improvements to sell. Engineers to make the improvements, lawyers to keep up with any regulation changes, then back to engineering to implement those changes. Managers to take credit for everyone doing actual work. Vice presidents who have neither built or sold anything in years to celebrate success. Cub Cadet is now owned my MTD its now junk with an expensive name.

It may be older than I thought, still Home depot had these things stacked 3 deep in front at the time. No excuse for me not to be able to get blades and filters there.

Ego did the dame thing with their push mower blades. Three summers ago my neighbors ego push mower caught fire. They sent him a new one. The blade mount was completely different for no reason. None of his spare blades would bolt up. This is the first Season that I haven't seen Home Depot carry air filters for the 6.75 hp Briggs&Stratton engines.

So one would think that if you ordered parts from the manufacturer using the model and serial number you would get the right parts.

NOT the case.

Id wager no one there has actually tried to put star blades on a round arbor. - Spoiler - doesn't work.

Bigger question is why does anyone care. What moron would buy a John deere, cub cadet, or name brand tractor at home depot. Knowing they are the cheapest stripped down, cost cut piece you can buy. There are options to purchase quality equipment. Home depot and lowes are not one of those options.

Um - you do realize that the John Deere you buy at HD or Lowes is exactly the same tractor you get at the dealer right? And that Lowes also sells Husky and they too are the same. They even had one with a fabricated deck.

Also sometimes good enough, is well good enough.

Also 2 if was actually going to buy one, this one wouldn't be it, but i'll take it on loan and try to rehab it for us to use helping out the widow next door (it is actually her tractor) and i'm pretty sure it did not come from HD or Lowes.

Anyway.

Only readily available round arbor blades are John Deere and they seem to be a different hole diameter.

The OP must mean ever since then.........

Poster Jethro Bob sure did

"Cub Cadet is now owned my MTD its now junk with an expensive name."

Yeah but you said OP (thats me) not Jethro Bob.

any way...

Not sure how one manages to get a deck 1" out of level front to rear and nearly an inch side to side... (and the you tuber that talks about Cub Cadet sagging deck and the not very sturdy deck mounts is spot on)

No wonder it cut crummy... that and the mangled piece of metal along the bottom front of the deck <SMH> one of the blades looks really bad... looks like someone tried to mow a lot marker rod. I was unsuccessful in straitening out the metal, I'll have to try to see if i can get one.
