I had lots of aggravation with the mechanical fuel pump on my Kohler CH-16S.

Vapor locking on hot days when pulling hard, the aforementioned sensitivity to fuel filters, or even a little trash in the filter.

The Cub 2166 in my shed now sports an electrical fuel pump working in conjunction with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

These mounted rather nicely on the backside of the "firewall".

The electric fuel pump doesn't draw enough power off the electrical system to cause issues.

This has solved the fueling issues so far.
