Hi guys,

I just purchased a new Opel Crossland 1.2 gasoline engine (81 kW), the same engine as Peugeot, Citroen etc.
It is the infamous Puretech 1.2 engine, for my car it's the EB2ADT version.

Just checked the manual for the correct oil engine but I'm a bit confused.
Seemingly, it makes no difference to add a 0w-30 B71 2312 or a 0w-20 B71 2010 engine oil (see attachment).

Since the engine works with the wet belt, my belief was that the 0w-20 is better for the belt...but maybe I'm wrong.

Then, is it true that the less PAO the oil contains, the better is for the seals?

Thanks!

PAO on its own has a tendency to "dry out" seals, tat is why most if not all PAO oils have some Ester content, as it has the opposite effect.
I wouldn't be afraid to use a PAO based oil.
But honestly i'd get rid of the car when the warranty expires, those 1.2 Puretechs are so bad.
