Craftsman 23 HP Intek oil change

Helped my neighbour who has health issues and changed the oil in his Craftsman with a 23 HP B&S Intek engine. The oil valve was “ turn left and pull”. It also had a plastic cap. Since he paid for the parts, I got him a genuine Briggs and Stratton oil filter. Used two quarts of Super Tech 10W30 “ conventional “ SP oil.

I have a similiar 24 hp Intek. With a filter change, it takes a little more than two quarts. I use a Fram 3614 filter. It is used hard and I use SAE 30 oil. I intend to get that silly plastic turn and twist drain replaced with a screw in plug. I just do not trust that silly thing.

I have the same (2005) engine. I use SuperTech 10w-40 blend oil and a SuperTech ST-3614 filter. Same filter fits my 4Runner and Ranger!
