funny how some things work out. lots of older rusty toyota's around here. my '01 dodge ram just went over 100,000 miles and i've had absolutely no issue's with it. my '95 also was very good. i don't think cr ever rated them as being "good" vehicle's
You are comparing apples with oranges. The link you provide refers to front fender rust on a car of thirty years ago. Newer Hondas, including yours, will not suffer rust in the area you have described if proper cleaning techniques are used. I think you are refering to the rear corner of the rear wheel well. If the owner carefully flushes all of the debris from this area when the car is washed, no rust will take hold.
Anyhow, Toyota is pleased to just barely stay ahead of Honda, as they have reached the point of diminishing returns. That's what happens when you let your company be run by accountants and lawyers instead of engineers and craftsmen.
