To your question of is a Nissan going to carry you reliably for ~5yrs/100K miles, I'd say that's no problem.
You gotta know going into it that resale values are always in the dumper for Nissan products. That's why I like them. You get a lot of Nissan for your dollar when you buy them used. Play the price game right and you won't loose any more than normal when you decide to trade or sell it.
Another interesting CPO issue I didn't stumble upon until I traded our ex-rental CPO'd 2016 Nissan Quest in that past October. Once the dealer had it in stock for resale on their website, I looked up it's CarFax. It showed it was in a minor accident in South Carolina and oddly enough, it was within the time frame I owned it!
There was no accidents in the CarFax when I bought it in 2017.
As mentioned in other threads, accident reporting can be sketchy with ex-rentals given the rental co's are self-insured. I'm thinking big expensive collision repairs the vehicle will get sold. Minor stuff will get repaired and the vehicle put right back into service unreported.
