Costco Interstate Battery Warranty

I would call the Costco customer service desk where you purchased it. I recall several years ago that they could look up the purchase and use that information to validate their warranty proof requirement. As noted, that was several years ago, well before they went to Interstate branded batteries, so my info could be dated.

Today, Costco seems to offer 36 month warranty replacement.

The official answer is that having a receipt "helps" but "may not be necessary."

Costco can pull the purchase history on a membership, and it is said that receipts can also be displayed on the app.

If it is important, not a bad idea to electronically scan the paper receipts that are provided today anyway. They're thermally printed, and will fade over time, or deteriorate more rapidly when exposed to heat.

Or, some retailers, like Walmart and IKEA, offer electronic versions that can be downloaded.

A battery purchased prior to the switch from free replacement to prorated warranties in the middle of 2023 should be grandfathered under the old 36-month replacement warranty.

I just had tires put on at Costco last night. They said that any warranty work could be looked up on your membership, so I'm assuming batteries would be there, too...

Costco will look it up under your account. A possible issue is if it was purchased under another account. For example, I put one in my niece's Odyssey that needed replacement, but I had to do the transaction. She could not use her account.

@Trav was more eloquent in his post #7.

The current terms in the USA for Costco is 36 months prorated. This is the weakest battery warranty of any battery retailer in the USA.
Kinda sad, as I am a big Costco fan, as I buy gas there at least two times or more a week, as well as weekly shopping.

My last battery purchase was an AGM from Walmart, four year free replacement warranty. The Walmart AGM battery (Clarios) was the same specs and country of origin as the Costco/Interstate (Clarios) and same price. I assume they are sourced from the same plant. Walmart batteries on the west coast of the USA are Clarios. East coast they are East Penn.

Found the original receipt. Was purchase in Oct 2022. Got a new battery, but had a $10.00 increase on the new battery I had to pay for......
Great news. Unfortunately the replacement now has the weak, three year pro rated warranty.
Assuming you have a WalMart nearby, I would have received the refund and gone to Walmart that (at least on the west coast) carries the same Clarios batteries, but with a 3 year flooded or 4 year AGM free replacement warranty.
