I have a 2018 Dodge Caravan. It has a safe zone on the dipstick and a 'crook' on the stick. Is it supposed to be in the safe zone or up to the crook?
The reason I ask this apparently stupid question is that when I changed my oil, the manual states it takes 6 qts. 6 put it at the crook.
Thank you for your help.

read owners manual?

The obvious answer would be you didnt get enough oil out and you overfilled with 6qt.

Per the manual, it says 6 qt. I put in a 5 qt jug plus 1 qt. Slacktide, there is no mark that says 'Full' (Otherwise, I promise I would not be asking this question) :) The stick has the hashmarked area that says "safe zone". About a quart above that is the bend in the dipstick. The manual does not give any specifics about the dipstick at all. It says oil capacity is 6 quarts.

The correct spot is in the hashmarked safe zone. The bend in the dipstick has nothing to do with the oil level. Mine takes just a hair over 5-quarts per change (changed it last week).
