Do the conventional oils with more boron produce better wear numbers than those with less or none at all?

Quaker State is up there too in boron... 10.00 per/jug is cheep at Walmart... I'd imagine some of you oil horders are stockpiling on it at that price.

Does QS have a better add package then PYB? High Boron and Moly, I agree 10 dollars for a jug is a great deal better then MC5K.

Kendall Blend/Motorcraft-251, Quaker State-246, Pennzoil 194, Shell Formula, 74, Havoline 72, Valvoline 1 Castrol, Citgo, Exxon, Mobil5000 <1 looking up uoa on these hard to find any clear benefit of having a high Boron number. Pyb, Havoline, Formula, and Mobil look pretty good at times. Really good question hope more can give their input.

If I'm wrong, someone correct me, but boron has taken the place of moly? Does it have properties that coat and create frictionless barrier between moving metal parts? or a very low amount of friction?

Not sure...I saw another thread where someone was illuding to the idea that QX was better than PYB, but Johnny said no, not the case given PYB's base II+. So I guess my other question, does a better base stock really make up for a lesser amount of boron given the two we are discussing now?
