Picked up a jug of QuakerState Ultimate Durablility 5-30 flavor for the Explorer. Would like to lengthen the OCI with this motor. Ninety Percent HighWay miles and oil rarely even gets real dark at 5000 OCI with other Synthetics in the past. Also purchased a Bosh D+ for this trial.

I've done it with my much older 97 Dodge Avenger. 12,000. Different oil (Mobil Delvac 1) but with no noticeable side effects. The only comment from Blackstone was, "This oil is wore out. Don't run any longer."

I have done this for years with my "out of warranty" trucks, since I drive near 100% highway. My trucks never even notice. They fall apart body wise before any engine issues or consumption. Do it with full confidence with a syn and a GOOD FILTER.

Remember, the "normal" service interval for most is 7500 anyway, and thats with conventional + any bargain filter. Going 2500 more with a syn + good filter is nothing!
