Consensus between M1, Purolator, and CarQuest Premium Oil Filters?

How well does each flow though?
They will both flow well enough to not worry about it. How much do you think they should flow? What's too much dP vs flow for your engine? At what flow rate will your engine be on the edge of damage? How much less flow output with the PD pump have if the filter has 3 PSI more of dP than another filter, and will that destroy the engine? Ans: No, because if that was the case there would be millions of blown-up cars from using a filter with 3 PSI more dP than another filter.

I read that my Honda 3.5 V6 needs at leaset 9-11 gallons per minute and that is what the OEM filter flows. bypass is 13 psi. Not sure what my 97 350 Vortec and 96 LS1 V8 needs for flow requirements..trying to figure all this out...ugh!

Is that flow spec in the official factory service manual? Is there an actual official max engine oil flow spec documented in a Honda manual? And who has official flow test data on an OEM Honda filter? Or are people pulling that stuff out of the air on Honda chat boards because that's what they "feel" those numbers should be.

Like said, both those filters are going to flow more than enough for any engine they are specified for. No filter has so much dP that it's going to make the PD pump cut back enough volume to really matter.
