Its all about me in this society. "I'll drive whatever the heck I want - 'MURICA!!!"

Yes, land of the free. You can drive and do (for the most part) what you want. Not thinking of others is selfish and narcissist, though. These same people don't have the foresight to see how much they're overspending on their cool trucks (I know, my brother just bought a Tundra 4x4 TRD 'Pro" for "work") The guy with no savings, past filed for bankruptcy, short sold a house, ...

At least he's not tatted up and won't ruin the truck with aftermarket parts. Currently gets 14.6 MPG, and is has a 38 gallon tank! Wait for gas to jump again in CA

I think the key word is West Virginia. I grew up there and the people are the most decent and kindest of anywhere I have ever been. I miss that place. People there are always looking out for their neighbor.

Not claiming to be self-righteous or anything, but I specifically bought my Silverado in 2WD and with a six cylinder so it could be practical for my use. I completely understand why someone would need the big 8, but I don't need it. The six really helps out in city gas mileage. I bought my Cruze because it gets good mileage (even though gas is cheap), is American made and is comfortable to drive. There are a lot of folks that aren't very practical thinking. I've known people who don't have a pot to [censored] in buying performance trucks and cars and can barely afford to run them.

Well, you can take what you wrote, remove truck and insert [censored] driving a luxury car/SUV/BMW whatever and it would be just as true.

That's perfectly acceptable. My rant is mostly about those trucks that look so ridiculous you cannot help but notice. They do it all for looks and attention and must drive them everywhere.

The value in two vehicles is centered around the replacement depreciation of the truck. If your a Farm Trucker and you still have that truck on property 30 years later then this doesn't matter. But the hardcore Bro Trucker has to have the latest body style and must upgrade at least every 5 years.

I do understand full size trucks, i have had a few before, and now have a 7/8ths size Toyota. Eventually i'l buy a nice full size truck. However, it will see limited mileage, the very best of care, and will have to last me 20 years to make sense. It certainly won't be way up in the air with a "fat chicks can't jump" bumper sticker.

I laugh because my wife's single friend(physician) who has been setup on terrible blind dates and Internet thing has driven or walked away when she saw this 3 times.

After rahashing your words a few times we have finally come full circle in you saying you want a bro truck, just without a sticker.

Okay, thanks for sharing.

No, i want a stock suspension and wheels truck with Michelin MS/2 tires on it. Probably an F150 V8 Lariat.

what could you possibly need a v-8 150 for?? Wouldn't a 6 cylinder be more efficient and better for my health?? Don't be so insensitive to the health of others.

typical hypocrite.....

I would get the V8 for longevity sake. Can't trust turbos 20 years later. The Ecodiesel is still in the running too, so maybe i will have only a 6 cylinder truck again.

Also you can rest assured that i put most of my miles on my PZEV Golf!

6 cylinder NA.

Why would you buy a car from a company that has been busted cheating on emissions??

Obviously its all about you and not about the environment, or the health of others.

again, hypocrite.

I would have considered other makes if anyone else in North America offered a compact turbo wagon with a manual trans for under 20k lol

Well either way, its obvious you are just a troll. And you got plenty of people to bite, me included. Though I just wanted to call you out as a hypocrite, which you clearly are. Though as you come online and judge others about the vehicle they drive, know that there is plenty of holier than thou on the other side as well. And they make fun of people like you as you make fun of them.

Have a good day! Terrible c r a p p y cold rainy weather here.
BTW, I don't own a bro truck.

I would only be a hypocrite if i owned and drove a massively lifted truck. That is what this thread is about, how i am bothered by their proliferation on the freeways around here. It is nothing to due with normal or even tastefully modified trucks. It is everything to do with the uselessly lifted show type trucks that are daily driven for attention.

Its okay if you didn't understand the point and humor of the thread. Have a nice day!

Actually, the fuel economy difference between the V6 and V8 pickup trucks are marginal at best. So given the V8 discounts, longevity (yeah, it shows for trucks), and that the savings could be wiped out with the engine working harder to pull (It is about that axle ratio baby)! I think it is a 1MPG between Chevy pickup the last I looked. Heck, I know that depending on the 3.5 vs the 2.7 fuel economy can be worse than other companies V8s. If you do more highway miles, then it skews in favor of the V8s a bit more (less of a gap).

Even with emissions, some of those "ecoboost" V6 put out more CO2 than V8 options (just not the 5.0 which is a porker).

Then, what do I know... I drive [censored] wagons.

I drove all over town today. Did not see one jacked up pickup on flotation tires with a stack in the bed. I may have seen a Superduty on 37s. But they may have been smaller, it's hard to tell. I did see a bunch of Earth killing pollution machines flying around for Sun and Fun. Who need an airplane anyway?
