That's actually not even close to true. We don't live in an anarchy nor a true democracy with unlimited freedoms.

Freedom comes with responsibilities...to ourselves and our neighbors.

The kind that tend to be odiferous, perhaps.

They take the most useful vehicles on earth and render them useless. The mods take the fuel economy from reasonable down to abysmal.

I just think they are idiots. But i do respect their right / decision to be an idiot driving a Bro trucks.

No disrespect for anyone that drives a sensible truck in situations that make sense to use a truck.

The irony is that somewhere on the web, there is another self-righteous MSB (Morally Superior Being), bemoaning the fact that someone could be so selfish as to buy a car from a Company that has been caught cheating to get their vehicles past Federal Emissions Standards..

And not only that, but to buy a new car? what a waste of money.

And to drive a car at all, when walking, public transportation, or riding a bicycle are much better for the environment...

As long as they pay for it (or understand the consequences of leasing it) the vehicle they drive is their business. Some people simply choose not to spend their time in the "people's car".

now, now, Pop_Rivit, i was already there (comrade country) and it wasn't pretty....

OP just rant of over-dis-improving some of the best features/utilitarian vehicles on the planet... and i don't think all off them bought them responsibly..

so, maybe we should buy stock in those suppliers for "bro"-life-experience providers...
:-)
Happy motoring my friends

P.S. OP drives a wagon, i think one of the worries is one of the bro-trucks is not going to stop at the same height as the NHTSA approved for all our "mundane" vehicles...
+bigger mass + textoid-zombies = totaled vehicle....

Your discovery of life will educate you on many other things. This particular topic is just one of several in your future. Try not to get mired and be jaded all the time, it will turn you into someone nobody wants to talk to.

The thing I don't understand is how this is legal. It is way worse for the environment than pulling the catalytic converter off of a 4 cylinder car for better fuel economy. I mean they are dropping a ton of money on parts that make their vehicle considerably less efficient and drop their fuel economy by 30% in most cases. We tested this on my friend's jeep before and after swapping parts. I am fine with it on your weekend fun car, but for a daily driver, this is horrible for the environment and makes you look like an idiot.

Why do so many people commute in a Bro Truck?

I understand owning a nice full size pickup but do you really have to literally drive it everywhere? You can afford a new King Ranch or High Country or Denali pickup and thousands of dollars of lift kit and wheels but you can't get a reasonable second car to commute in?

It makes literally no sense at all. You spend huge money depreciating your truck and the gas and tires.

Are you the one who on are local Facebook page coined the term "BroDozer"?

A pick up has a better resale value that an econo box and is nicer to ride in.

I do drive a wagon most of the time. I do have actual needs to drive my truck about once a week. Its a good truck but far less comfortable than my wagon.

My point is these guys are probably not affording these vehicles. They serve no purpose, they are wasteful, and people think they are cool for some reason.

Real off road enthusiasts know they are poorly modified for off road use. Real truck users know they can't use that truck bed if its 7 feet in the air. Its just rice.

The only thing I don't like about pick ups is that many owners seem to mod the exhaust making it loud. I hate loud vehicles, Civics with [censored] cans or trucks, doesn't matter.

I think the proper term is "Bro Dozer" and there are a few around my town too.

The answer to your question of Why is - how will anyone know how they got the nickname "Stubby" unless they drive the hugest truck they can get their hands on?

Again, i have no issues with people driving regular trucks with reasonable tires. My disdain is exclusively on the 6" or greater lift kits, the 20" wheels with 37" or greater tires, "stacks", you know that kind of thing is complete waste in a daily driver.

Regarding the emissions equipment, the short answer is it is not legal. I refuse to delete my PSD because I do not want to see black smoke rolling out of it nor do I want to smell diesel burning. There are several that run around me everyday that have deleted their trucks and they stink like the old diesels did. That is their prerogative, however, if the federal boys catch on I have read somewhere that it is thousands of dollars in fines.

Wait until he gets a scratch on his Rockstar wheels ... or a hole in one of his Nitto BRO GRAPPLER tires. The worst thing that could happen? The luke aldean CD stops working!!!

A $13000 Nissan Versa could lose 100% of it's value and not lose more money than buying a 1/2 ton pickup , putting large tires, tow mirrors (but no hitch ...) , stick on chrome and trying to resell.

To me, a truck is a work tool, not a fashion accessory. I always smirk at them from my 16 year old Jeep that has served as a truck, off road, tow vehicle more than their truck ever will.

But, with that said, they do help out a lot of local businesses. I know quite a few people who make very, very good money outfitting these brodozers.

It's their money (or line of credit) to spend as they please. As long as I'm able to drive my 16 year old Jeep with junkyard this-and-that and my near base model compact car, I'm happy.
