Was going to pick up Techron on the BOGO sale, and see online a new (to me) High Mileage Fuel System Cleaner.

Any comments? Just marketing difference?

Detail:
Notoriously useless MSDSs show a change from N,N'-di-sec-butyl-p-phenylenediamine to Trade Secret for the <1% component (so, could be the same). And the main Trade Secret (may be PEA) changed from 20-25% to 10-20% (so, could be no change at 20%).

Quickly scanning the text for the HM, a few things were removed from the Complete's (longer) recommended list - but not explicitly advised-against.

PDS - High Mileage
Recommended for use in:
• Spark ignition engines with gasoline, ethanol and gasoline/ethanol blends
• Gasoline hybrid vehicles
Will not harm catalytic converters and oxygen sensors.
Not recommended for diesel engines.
Not for aviation.

PDS - Complete
Recommended for use in:
• Spark ignition engines with gasoline, ethanol and gasoline/ethanol blends
• Direct injected gasoline engines (DISI)
• Gasoline hybrid vehicles
Suitable for use in:
• Gasoline two-stroke air-cooled engines (motorcycle or chainsaw)
• Gasoline two-stroke water-cooled engines (motorcycle or marine)
• Gasoline four-stroke lawnmower, motorcycle and marine engines
Will not harm catalytic converters and oxygen sensors.
Not recommended for diesel engines.

since they want you to use it every 1K miles instead of 3K miles like the Complete...as well as less chance of dissolving varnish and the help for the fuel sensor (unless you need fuel stabilization) I would use Complete over High Mileage...

Appreciate the comp-chart link (didn't catch that one at the website), and thanks for the clarifying discussion.

So, does the High Mileage have more PEA than the concentrate?

I saw that the HM had 1 oz to 1,75gal but that doesn't answer my question.
It also says to use it 3x as often as the concentrate.
Thanks,
Buffalo
Last time I checked yes high mileage more pea than complete fuel system from I believe 2023 .

Just wanted to revisit this topic because I'm also curious if HM is better than Concentrate or if you'd stick with/ the Concentrate version? I have a Honda Civic 185k and a Ford Explorer 160k.
Thank you

You mentioned: "as well as less chance of dissolving varnish and the help for the fuel sensor" Could you please elaborate?

I was following the chart provided by Chevron in CharBaby's post above mine... https://www.chevronlubricants.com/c...es-sheet/Techron-Product-Comparison-Chart.pdf
on the chart help with the fuel sensor is checked for the regular Complete and not for the High Mileage...also the recommendation for use is once every 1000 miles for HM and once every 3000 miles for Complete...that leads me to believe that Complete has more cleaner in it per recommended dose...
