Never heard of this before, but sure sounds interesting........ bacon popcorn, which is essentially popcorn cooked in bacon grease, then small pieces of crispy bacon added to the popcorn after cooked.

Any BITOGERs make bacon popcorn, and if so--- how is it?

And a supplemental video- bacon caramel popcorn balls.

I have had it - as mentioned just popcorn popped in bacon grease, usually in a cast iron. Tasted like slightly saltier popcorn to me

The good thing about plain salted popcorn is that you have some confidence that it is what is claimed. It's made from some of the least expensive foods around: corn, oil and salt. You only need to be concerned about modified oil and GMO corn, not eating some entirely difference substance.

Bacon, like butter, is expensive. There is going to be some chemical substitute. It might taste like a reasonable facsimile, but it is going to be some highly processed food-adjacent substance.

After watching me enjoy a hardboiled egg for breakfast whilst in Scandinavia, a friend of mine warned that caviar-in-a-tube is, ".... more than slightly processed".
I was overusing the caviar to mask the flavor of the hardboiled egg as I do not like them.

Or you could cook bacon. Then you also have bacon to eat. That is far better than a smelly stick and no bacon to eat.

Trader Joe's used to sell bacon flavored popcorn. It was great. I miss it.

One time I bought some kosher bacon-flavored salt called "Bacon Salt". There's no actual pork in it, so it qualified for kosher certification. The company had a variety of products including "Bacon Lube", which I guess was a bacon-scented medical lubricant of some kind. Or not.
