Those that I've been conversing with over the years will know that I hod different fuels of different utility, and believe that they should be used appropriately.

e.g. Coal and Nukes, intractable, heavy infrastructure, should be used for stationary power applications. Oil should be for transport, and NG should be for easily distributable heating, transport etc....oil fired stationary power is nuts (except for things like islands etc.).

Doing a little research this week, and found this...

Global competition has lost us a car industry, and is making our cost of living more expensive...my beleif in "Fortress Oz" is starting to come back.

That was an interesting article Shannow thanks for posting it. It looks like energy producers have the perfect storm in Australia right now; exporting natural gas to highly profitable markets, and reaping the benefits from a high demand/low supply local market.

Interesting material, but those statistics are old. How much has changed since then?

I'll never understand why gas is so $$$ over there. Heck even when I was in Eastern Europe in 2012, gas was about $10 USD per gallon. A lot of the cabs had converted to propane even. I saw mostly diesels, besides the 5.2 Grand Cherokee. Lol
